  • Regular professional dental cleanings are crucial for good oral health. Dental cleanings performed by our trained hygienists will remove plaque and tartar build-up from around our teeth and even under our gum line.

Bacteria and tartar tend to build on our teeth, over time. The longer they are left, the harder they become, making them difficult to remove with regular brushing and flossing which in turn can cause gum inflammations and gum disease. Therefore, professional cleanings are the number one preventive measure against gum disease and general dental problems. It’s good practice to get them done on a regular basis, at least once every six months or as recommended by your hygienist.

  • A root canal is a type of dental treatment performed on teeth that have become damaged or infected. Inside your tooth, beneath the white enamel and a hard layer called dentin, is a soft tissue called pulp. The pulp contains blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissued which help grow the root of your tooth during its development. A fully developed tooth can survive without the pulp because the tooth continues to be nourished by the tissues surrounding it.

Do I need a Root Canal?
Root canals are needed for a cracked tooth from injury or genetics, a deep cavity, or issues from a previous filling. Patients generally need a root canal when they notice their teeth are sensitive, particularly to hot and cold sensations.

  • Why do I need a tooth Extraction?
There are plenty of reasons why you may need one or more of your teeth extracted, including:

    1. Tooth infection
    2. Tooth decay or severe cavity
    3. Preparing for orthodontic treatment
    4. Wisdom teeth

What happens during a tooth Extraction?
Your dentist will begin by numbing your mouth with local anaesthesia. Assuring you feel no pain they will then begin to slowly loosen the tooth and remove it. Following your extraction, you must hold gauze against the hole and keep a consistent level of pressure. This will help form a blood clot, which will complete the extraction. The healing period is usually 1-3 days. If bleeding does not stop, contact your dentist.

  • What is a filling?
A filling is a process used to repair a tooth back to its natural structure. You may require a filling if you have decay also known as a cavity or even to repair a chipped or broken tooth. A temporary filling could also be used following a root canal or to treat issues involving the tooth nerve.
Fillings can be made from a variety of materials, including gold, silver, porcelain, and composite resin. Some appear metallic, while others are coloured to look like teeth.
Here are some of the benefits of teeth filling:

    • Restores tooth health and function: Teeth fillings can help to restore the health and function of a damaged or decayed tooth.

    • Prevents further damage: Teeth fillings can help to prevent further damage to the tooth and the surrounding teeth.

    • Improves appearance: Teeth fillings can help to improve the appearance of the tooth and smile.

  • Everyone experiences tooth discoloration at some point in their lives. Luckily, in most cases, tooth discoloration is reversible thanks to dental procedures such as teeth whitening. Some factors that cause this discoloration of our teeth include:

Here are some of the benefits of teeth whitening:

    • Teeth whitening can help to improve the appearance of the smile and make it look brighter and whiter.

    • Boosts confidence: A whiter smile can help to boost confidence and make you feel more comfortable in social situations.

    • Is non-invasive: Teeth whitening is a non-invasive procedure that does not require any surgery or anesthesia.

    • Is relatively affordable: Teeth whitening is a relatively affordable cosmetic dental procedure.

We offer a variety of teeth whitening options to meet your individual needs and goals. We perform in-office teeth whitening, which is a quick and effective way to whiten your teeth in one visit. We also offer take-home teeth whitening kits, which allow you to whiten your teeth at your own pace in the comfort of your own home.

  • Dental implants are metal posts placed into the jawbone to replace missing teeth. Made of biocompatible materials like titanium, they fuse with the bone over time, providing a stable foundation for crowns, bridges, or dentures. Dental implants restore both the function and appearance of natural teeth, offering a durable, long-term solution for individuals with missing or damaged teeth.

Some case require bone grafts, depending on age, site of extraction, and time since the tooth was removed.
